Curiosity: Probably a hybrid between a Capsicum Chinense and Capsicum Frutescens. In 2007 it was named the hottest chili pepper in the world. It held the title until 2012 when it was replaced by the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. 401.5 times hotter than classic Tabasco. The name, of Middle Eastern origin, means Poisonous Snake. Bhut Jolokia is nicknamed "Ghost Pepper" in that its spiciness first hides and then suddenly manifests itself in its violence.

Fruit characteristics:The chili pepper is bright red in color, ranging from 5 to 9 cm in length and about 2.5 to 3 cm in diameter. The fruits are elongated, wrinkled and have a pointed apex. They are extremely spicy with long-lasting persistence.

Pepper Maremma recommends it: Ideal sprinkled over meat carpaccio or simply over roasted or grilled red meat.
Because of its extreme spiciness, we recommend using this chili in very small doses so that you can fully enjoy its flavor and that of the seasoned dishes.
